Horns

1935-48 the horn was mounted in the centre of a bracket that was astride the front engine plates but some photographs around 1946-48 show the horn mounted to the right hand engine plate or sometimes on the right hand saddle spring stud, particularly on twin port models and SQ4s. There is a bracket listed for the 1948 KH that fits to the left hand engine plate. From 1949 onwards the horn is hung from a special stud through the left hand saddle spring lug on plunger and rigid models (click here). On the swinging arm models the horn was fixed to the bottom tool box bracket. All models used the familiar Alttette horn until 1955 when the swinging arm models changed to the rather dour HF 1441.
