Cylinders Pistons and Heads

The standard bore is 54mm except for the 200, which is 48mm. The 200 Arrow cylinders are the same casting as the 250 models but with less machining, so can be bored out to 54mm if the T205 pistons are not available.

The Suzuki pistons are virtually identical to the original Ariel pistons apart from the gudgeon pin diameter and are therefore supplied with a replacement small end bush. Like all 2 stroke pistons they will benefit from having the ports in the piston matched to the ports in the cylinder. Another improvement is to drill 2 small holes into the gudgeon pin bosses from inside the piston to aid lubrication to the fully floating gudgeon pin. The pistons are supplied with full instructions.

On low compression heads the spark plug is angled towards the front and is vertical on the high compression ones.

All cylinders are used and will require re-boring. We will supply the best cylinder that we have in stock but it should be noted there are few left that are without at least minor fin damage and the price shown in the price list is for a cylinder with minimal damage. The price will vary with the condition. It is common for the thin bridge across the bottom of the transfer port to be broken; this does not cause a problem.
