Sprung saddles remained an option until the end of production even on swinging arm frames, mainly for police forces. Dual seats were introduced around 1951 and were fitted as standard from 1953 except for the C group, which stuck rigidly to a spring saddle except (even the exception have exceptions) for the C12, which never had a spring saddle.
