From 1956 to 1958, Ariels used clutch and brake levers with a 1/4″ adjuster that was part of the cable; i.e. the adjuster was not slotted. If our cables are loose in the thread of your levers then you have the more common 5/16″ adjuster levers, which are slotted, and never used on Ariels. If you have a 5/16″ lever adjuster you will need to make a cable to match, or change your lever. We can supply a special front brake cable to suit the non-adjuster type of lever (107RH7/8, click here) which incorporates a mid-adjuster, part number 6479-87. For a similar clutch cable, use the earlier clutch cable, part number 6460-52

Illustrations are for guidance only; cables supplied may vary in detail but will do the same job. We do try to make cables as the original even to the extent of making some of the fittings ourselves, but there are limits. Approximate lengths of cables are included, as a guide, inner length first; between the centres of the nipples, then the outer as measured from where they sit in the housing.
